Natural Covering
The process of natural covering at Glenwood is undertaken with the safety of the mare, stallion and people being of paramount importance.
Hygene is also high on the list, the mares are cleaned and washed off and their
tails are fully bandaged. They then have covering boots put on so that she can't damage the stallion.
If a problem arises with the mare, ie. she has an injury of some sort and can't take the weight of the stallion or as some mares do will not show to the stallion that she is in season, or will not stand to be covered then we will contact the owner as the option is there to go down the Artificial Insemination (AI) route which will be far less stessful for her
