Panama was first show as a yearling in 2009 where he had many wins in a few outings :

Northern Breed Show Osbaldeston - 1st Yearling and Reserve Champion Youngstock also qualifying for the Tam O'Shanter Championship

Dumfries Agricultural Show - 1st Yearling and Reserve Champion Connemara

Area 4 Harrogate - 1st Yearling and Champion Connemara winning the Siobhan Trophy

In 2010 he went to the April Connemara Colt Inspection and passed with Class 1, the Vet on the day commented there was nothing to discuss as hed had passed with ease and his temperament had been wonderful to work with

Dunny as we know him  was bred at Glenwood out of one of the resident mares and from his first two outings as a foal won both his classes.  He wasn't shown a great deal but was always in the first three.  At Four he was broken and had wins and placings in his first season under saddle and with Val taking the cobwebs off her boots won Dumfries Agricultural County Ridden in a big class qualifying for the Roseen Ridden Championships at the Breed Show.

In March 2010 as a five year old he was sold to Jo Filmer from near Brighton and his career has blossomed in an most amazing way.  We wish Rosie Filmer all the best for her 2011 season with him

As 3 year old,  Reserve Champion of all Mountain and Moorland In Hand classes and in 2009 Champion Ridden and qualified for the Rosemeen Championships 2010 has now qualified for NPS 5 times this year and was 2nd at the championships and 2nd in his first working hunter at the East of England

Orchid has had a very good showing career to date, she has a wonderful temperament and is a joy to work with.  Her career so far is

First time out at the Scottish Connemara Show 3rd in the Yearling Class

Northern Breed Show Osbaldeston 1st Yearling and Reserve Champion Youngstock

Linnels Show Hexham 1st Yearling.

2 Year old : 2nd Mixed breed class at Lnachester Show and 2nd 2 year old class at the Breed Show Osbaldeston also on the same day passed her filly inspection with Class 1.
Dumfries Agricultural Show 3rd in the 2 year old class.
3 Year old : Scottish Connemara Group Show - winner of three year old class, Purebred Champion and Reserve Champion of all in hand classes.  Northern Breed Show Osbaldeston 2nd in a very large class. Linnels Show Hexham winner of three year old class.

Sadly Lovebird is no longer with us, but she certainly left wonderful memories.  As a yearling at the Scottish Connemara Show where she was 2nd in the joint yearling, two and three year old class and Reserve Champion yearling, two and three year old.  At two she won the two year old class at Limmels and at three won the three year old class at Osbaldeston.

Old News Snippets

Richmod Equestrian Centre August 2010, Lowland Wise Choice by Wise Guy R out of Free Spirit gained High First Premium in Show jumping at the BEF Futurity Evaluation with a mark of 8.5 overall.  Anne Johnson's two year old by Wise Guy R gained a 2nd premium for eventing.

BEF Futurity Myerscough, Sue Denwick and Bill Essen's Dancing Bluefield velvet by Catherston Dance in the Dark scored the overall highest score of 8.29 for eventing, (frame and build to event 9,  Walk 7.75, Trot 8, Canter Gallop 17 out of 20 and attitude 8.5)

Eastlands Harleybrae (Eastlands Burniebrae x Rosenharley Laughris) received a Class 1 at the Stallion inspection at Osbaldeston in April 2009.  His elder full sister by a year won the three year old filly class and was champion youngstock and best british youung pony at Moreton Morrell Breed Show April 2009.

Richmond Equestrian Centre  Aug 2009, Mrs Valally's Spring Song by Santro's Song  received a 1st premium  for show jumping gaining one of the top marks of the days and also received a 2nd premium for dressage.  Mrs A, Johnson was awarded a 2nd premium for eventing with her yearling by Wise Guy R.

Oyster Rose owned by Margaret Traves

Congratulations to Margaret Traves and her yearling filly Oyster Rose out of Oyster Lady by Rosenaharley Laughris.  Rose had three wins at Border Union and two wins and two Chpmionships at Area 4 show Aug 2009.  Also as a foal she won the foal class at the Northern Horse Show, Wetherby.


2009 was a great year for Peter Ferguson from Edinburgh whose three year old Working Hunter Pony, Siren's Song by Rosenaharley Laughris won the championship at Peebles, Central and West Fife Show and was Supreme Champion at Blair Castle.

Blakestone Dior owned by Chris Nicholson and Simon Ness

Blakestone Dior (Carlton Atlanta x Catherston Dance in the Dark) owned by Chris Nicholson and Simon Ness has had outstanding successes.  She is now going to stud in 2011, where she will start her career as a broodmare.  We wish her every success.


The third foal  a full brother to Blakestone Dior, Glenwoodstud D'Artagnan of Blakestone is now resident at Glenwood.

 

2 year old Another Knight

Another Knight by Knightley Park owned by Edith Cawthorn has like his elder brother One More Knight has had prolific wins at all the major UK shows e.g. Suffolk County, East of England, The Royal Show, Breed Show, Lincoln Show to name a few.

Lowfield River Dance by Catherston Dance in the Dark won the yearling class at the Northern Horse Show Wetherby and was also placed at Bramham and the Great Yorkshire show.

John and Dianna Staveley have used Rosenaharley Laughris for their outstanding winning mare Eastlands Burniebrae on five occasions.  Burnie won Dublin, Great Yorkshire, Royal Highland, Breed Show more than once.  Together they have really produced some outstanding stock, the first Mossiebrae who is now a Champion in her right, the next Harleybrae now a first class stallion, the next Hollybrae who is now at Glenwood and a filly Lymiebrae who has also been in the ribbons.  Burnie is now in foal to Laughris again (watch this space !)
