As a local owner I regularly visited and my mare Dancer was always happy and content with everything as i'd asked regarding her care, to the point where a fly mask would be popped on when i hadn t even sent one up, if the flys bothered her. The stallions,facilities,advice and routine were of a great standard and i was regularly updated with any news , following any vets visit, scan and always welcomed for a visit even though they are always busy with their own and other s horses. Dancer came home chilled, well and in foal to Wise Guy, and I hope all goes as well next summer. I have absolute faith in their knowledge and care and she will be sent back Summer 11 to hopefully have her foal with their supervised care.
I would have no doubts in sending any other mare back to a great choice of stallions for any discipline and know I had the best chance of a healthy and fantastic foal

"We have always tried to breed the best livestock we can whether it be prizewinning shetlands; Aberdeen Angus, or Connemaras.  These days we conentrate on the connemara ponies and have used stallions from Ireland becaue of the pedigree.  We were thrilled when Glenwood purchased Rosenharley Laughris, which ticked all the boxes for us!!  We have used him by AI five times with our Royal Dublin Champion, and she has conceived first time each year, which says an awful lot for the Stud's skill in semen collection.  Our first foal by Laughris was a prizewinner at the recent Royal Highland Show.  We shall not change a winning formula."

Loch Pearl) after she sustained an injury eventing as a 12 year old.  I had looked at several studs and stallions in the Spring 2006 but immediately liked the stamp and temperament of Omarco, and also the facilities offered at Glenwood Stud.  I am a first time breeder and Rob and Val were extremely supportive throughout the whole pregnancy and I felt I could ring them at any time for advice, particularly nearer the birth.  On 17th June 2007, Cosmic Colours was born, a lovely coloured colt.  He was extremely strong and alert right from birth, but with a very amiable temperament.  I have no regrets whatsoever in picking Omarco and Glenwood Stud and will continue to use them when I put her back in foal next year."

"I wanted to let you know what a great experience it was having our mare come to vist one of your stallions (Catherston Dancing in the Dark).  We were a bit nervous as our mare has never been away from home since we got her 3 years ago, but you and Rob soon put us at ease.  You spent a whole afternoon showing us all your stallions and it was obvisous from their reactions to you both that they are well handled and looked after.

Our mare was welcomed into her paddock and it is so nice that there are just a few mares in one paddock, your stud has an air of being a well run establishment even though you are very busy your staff too have always been friendly and professional at the same time.  The whole experience was a pleasure and we always felt that you were organised and knowledgable and made us feel that ours was the only mare that mattered, although obviously you have many horses and owners to cater for.   We were free to visit and call at any time but to be honest we only came once even though we live locally we felt that Ella was in good hands and that it was unnecessary to keep calling to visit, but it was nice to know that we could have if we wanted to.    Everything seemed to be so simple and our mare has come home a happy horse and setteld back into her own home straight away. 
 
We now await the arrival next spring of her foal, and shall let you know how we get on, you never know she may even return for another vist!!"

"I first sent my much-loved mare Smudge to Glenwood stud in 2005 to Catherston Dance in the Dark, she proved difficult to get in foal and after a few tries still hadn’t conceived, I was considering giving up but Rob and Val said I must bring her back the following year, so I did and after just one covering my mare was scanned in foal! As I was a first time breeder I decided to take smudge back to Glenwood to foal as I knew she would be in the best hands should anything go wrong, two weeks after her due date on the 6th April 2007 my mare gave birth to a gorgeous bay colt named Charlie. Rob and Val were excellent, they stayed up until the early hours to make sure mum and baby were ok. Charlie is a lovely foal, he’s very playful and friendly. I would definitely consider using Glenwood stud again in the future if I decide to breed another foal. "

I must thank you again for the excellent service provided by the Glenwood Stud in the provision of AI for my mare Skeyton Dutch Nova.  Due to the lateness of the Vet in calling to check her and the rapidity of the follicle’s maturation I did not call until after 12.00.  It is impressive that you obtained semen and managed to get it into Newcastle (by taxi!) for delivery the next day.  This resulted in a successful fertilization and we are now hoping for a productive pregnancy and the patter of little hooves!

The decision to put my much loved showjumping mare in foal and to whom was a hard one, however Rob and Val's kindness, professionalism and time given to me was endless.  With their help and support I finally made the decision and chose a young stallion at the stud named Wise Guy,  as he complimented my mare perfectly!
 
My mare was very well cared for during her stay at the stud and was scanned in foal within just a few weeks,  all the staff at the stud were extremely helpful and all the horses, including the stallions are very well cared for.  Everyone works so hard!
 
I was so impressed with the stud I actually bought a youngster by Knightly Park, and am extremely pleased with his progress so far and have high hopes for him in a showjumping career.
