Abergavenny Welsh Comet is a lovely young Welsh Section D stallion is certainly bred in the purple. His Sire Llanarth Prince of Wales a prestigious show winner. In 2012 he was Champion Section D at the Royal Highland, Champion Section D and Reserve Supreme Champion Overall M&M at Ponies UK Summer Champs, 1st and Reserve Champion at the Royal Welsh in 2014, 2013 and 2018 HOYS Cuddy Qualifier, in 2018 he then went on to be 2nd in the Cuddy at HOYS and many times Reserve to name a few of his wins. Christmas 2018 saw him in the Horse and Hound Review of the Year.
His Dam Abergavenny Sally is one of the UK’s top Section D mares winning In Hand & under saddle with many Championships to her credit, including the Royal Welsh and many County Shows. Dr. Wynne Davies MBE spoke of her as a good Section D mare as has ever been seen which is a huge tribute to her.
Comet has proven high fertility, and his stock is already winning in the ring.
2016 was his showing debut and what a season it was. He Qualified for PUK, Equifest, Northern Breeders and NCPA Pony of the Year for the 2nd time. His list of 2016 achievements are as follows, a great list for a young 4 year old.

For his first season he took everything in his stride travelling with mares on many occasions. He has a lovely temperament and is certainly a quality stallion indeed. A perfect match for Welsh D’s or a cross with many other breeds putting in the native blood, temperament and movement.
