Lickeen Prince is a lovely 5 year old stallion who came over from Ireland as a yearling & has run on at Glenwood. In the Autumn of his second year he went for his first outing to the North Eastern Counties Show at Richmond where he won his class & where he was Large M&M Youngstock Champion. In April 2017 he went to Edinburgh where he passed his Stallion Inspection. Only lightly shown as he was left to mature being 2nd in two Stallion Classes to two more mature stallions & was broken, & in June 2017 went to be ridden on by Zoe Nicoll.

In his first outing under saddle he was 1st Novice Ridden at the Scottish Connemara Show. Since then his next two outings have gained two firsts.

  • April 2019 - 2nd Novice Ridden M&M at Kilmaurs Show

  • May 2019 - 1st Intermediate Connemara/New Forrest Ridden & Reserve Champion, Qualified for NPS Malvern at Dumfries & Galloway Show

  • May 2019 - 1st In Hand & Champion Adult In Hand, Reserve Overall Champion In Hand Connemara at Scottish Connemara Show 

  • June 2019 - 1st M&M Stallion Class at NPS Scotland, Strathallan Castle

Pedigree

His Sire Lehid Canal Prince was bred in Ireland and moved to France for some time and has now returned to Ireland. Lehid Canal Prince won the class of 2 year old colts and won the title of Reserve Junior Champion at the National Models and Allures in Poitiers.  In 2002 he was accredited as a Connemara Stallion with the best score in model (16/20) and the best average (15/20)  In 2002 his first year of competition he qualified for the final of the classical cycles at Lamotte Beuvron and was also Reserve Champion Senior in Poitiers.  In 2006 he was Supreme Champion at the Regional of Connemara’s in Rostrenen (Brittany) and was the sire of the two year old filly class at the same show. While in France he sired 79 foals 28 of which have index to competition and he was certainly a sire of jumpers and eventers for sure as his records show.

Oisin is the sire of the 2003 winning yearling colt at Clifden Show.  Sire of Lehid Canal Prince and in the UK sire of Oaklands Lace Three championships and Oaklands Silver Orchid a premium mare.

Silver Fort dam of Kingstown Silver dam of Clifden winners Kingstown Diana, Kingstown Fionn, Kingstown Fort (Supreme Champion Oughterard 2004), Kingstown Starlet, and Kingstown Fairy who was also champion foal. Kingstown Silver’s offspring have made their way to UK breed show winner, France Reserve Youngstock Champion.

  

His Dam Gleann Rua Cappa Mist was not shown due to an injury to a leg. She produced as well as Prince, Lickeen Jack (Oisin - Gleann Rua Cappa Mist), who has had an amazing career as a Performance Pony. 

 

Lickeen Jack Qualified Welsh Derby & was 1st, Scope at Hartpury, he won POYS, Qualified for the Performance Pony Dublin as a 5 year old at the Connemara Breed Show, Qualified for Burghley M&M (rider too ill to compete), loose jumped in Ireland as a 3 year old at 1.40m, competed up to Medium Level Dressage & would have been an incredible FEI pony if the rider had not been told she was too old. He has also done HOYS Level Working Hunters. He now has a new owner & is jumping up to 1.25m & has Qualified for two Classes at Blue Chip & Newcomers Second Rounds. He’s a lovely pony & doesn’t have a bad bone & has even down two pony club camps.

Gleann Rua Sea Mist 2007 All Ireland Champion 0f Champions. She has won countless classes and championships.  Her daughters Shanna Princess sold to UK. Shanna Zuleika a broodmare at the stud and Shanna Rose Junior Champion at Oughterard and Junior Champion at the Champion of Champions Show Roundstone.
