Northern Stallion Showcase 2017

Glenwood Stud attended the Northern Stallion Showcase at Newton Rigg Equestrian Centre last Sunday (26th March), where we presented six of our eight resident stallions; including four of The Connemara Famous Five, all of whom are HWSS tested Negative.

Abergavenny Welsh (Welsh Section D) was the first of our stallions to parade in front of the crowd. He rose to the music by Queen as he was really having a good time!

Next was Skellorn Harrison (Class 1 Connemara), who loves to show off to the crowds! He really loved every minute of it; sure he thought he was back in the Cuddy!

Then it was Castleside Tigue who was jumped by Miss A Stirton (previously part of Kings Troop), he loved showing the crowds what he could do at 20 years young!

The lunch break was a time for the public to come along and meet the boys, all of who are impeccably behaved and pass these lovely temperaments onto their young stock.

The first of our stallions to parade after the lunch break was our Advanced Event Stallion Take it 2 the Limit (297BE points). This is the third time we have paraded him at this event but he is no stranger to stallion parades, so loved the crowds of people watching him in the arena whilst “Jump” was playing in the background, very apt for such a successful event horse.

Castleside JJ Junior (Class 1 Connemara) was the next of our stallions to parade. He paraded to the soundtrack from ‘Man from Snowy River’. If you have never heard of or seen the film, it’s well worth a watch, based on the poem by Banjo Paterson.

Last but not least was Supernova (Class 1 Connemara), who only arrived at Glenwood at the beginning of March. Skellorn Harrison and Supernova both paraded to the original track of the Galway Girl which had a real Irish lilt for them.

All the boys behaved themselves impeccably! We would like to thank Pam Harrison & the Northern Stallion Showcase organisers. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day and hope you did too!
