We received a lovely message from Vincent Lascombes about Take it 2 the Limit.
He said “I am proud to have started this horse and ridden it all his 4 years in competition, with an Elite classification in the final of Pompadour. He was the best horse I have ever ridden. At the time, his name was Maestro du Saillan”.
He continued “from memory, we only made three events before the final of Pompadour. Haras de Jardy, Bonneville and Mourmelon. We won the three. Young horse, it was already a very different horse from the ones I had ridden before. And yet I rode a lot. He was a gifted student. Everything seemed easy with him. Cold in his head, with three magnificent gaits, a lot of strength and flexibility, I am not very surprised that he is a good stallion. I would like to see him again one day, if we can travel again one day. I was a rider in an eventing stable at the time. Maestro (Take it 2 the Limit) remains my best memory of a horse, and my saddest memory when Leslie Law came to try him. I was sure he would buy him. But happy today to see his great career.” - Vincent Lascombes
