Wise Guy R bred in the Showjumping purple being bred in the Netherlands. He’s proved to be a stallion with very good fertility, both AI and Natural covering.
He represents some of the Elite Sire lines for Showjumping in the world, and has an exceptional temperament as well as having very elastic movement and a very powerful jump.
People have been delighted with their foals and now has youngsters doing well and gaining 1st and 2nd Premiums in the BEF Futurity Scheme.
However as well as being bred in the purple for Showjumping, he has such excellent conformation & bone that he is producing very good Show Horses. He has numerous youngsters showing great potential in the Eventing World. Two of his youngsters are now showjumping in Germany & are doing exceptionally well.

Progeny
Wise Guy R has progeny competing in Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage, a true Sire of competition horses of all disciplines. Two of his youngsters are now show jumping in Germany and are doing exceptionally well.
Wise Guy R now has youngsters doing well and gaining 1st and 2nd Premiums in the BEF Futurity Scheme. One of his offspring gained a 2nd Premium for eventing at the BEF Futurity and then as a 2 year old gained a 2nd Premium for Eventing. Also, a yearling Valentino Virtuoso R who gained a 1st Premium and also Lowlands Wise Choice who gained a 1st Premium.
One to watch for the future is Barbara Anderson's Diego, who competed at Arena UK.
They had a very successful day with two out of three double clears and a
placing.
Elaine Cudhay and Lowlands Wise Choice have Qualified for an assessment for the
Equine Pathway introduced by the World Class Programme. The purpose is to identify
horses that have the potential to develop into medal winning horses.
Vanessa Wark took her young 4 year old mare Promise by Wise Guy R to the BBDRC
Camp at Park End.
She said “my smile says it all of how proud I am of Promise...she was
fantastic & literally took to her first ever time cross country like a duck to water!! Exciting
times ahead!!”.
Vanessa Wark & Promise went for there first trip to Bobbis Camp at
Somerford. Vanessa described their day as riding in every season throughout the day
including snow, which she wished would have stayed away! Vanessa describes Promise
as "brilliant! Her temperament is amazing; she takes everything in her stride, & a pleasure
to do anything with. So looking forward to see what the future brings for her!".
Zutopia by Wise Guy R x Cavanta was conceived with Embryo Transfer, she has since been placed 1st Foxhunter & XC Bicton Novice double clear.
Homebred Ghillie Go Lightly by Wise Guy R owned by Claire McNay are the Individual Accumlator leaders in the first of five rounds in this seasons Arena Eventing Series, which attracted riders from across the region to compete. They also took 1st placed in the most competitive class of the day, the 90cm Speed & Joker class. They also won the Cumbria Horse Trials Arena Eventing Individual Accumulator!
Claire McNay & Ghillie Go Lightly finished Eglinton Horse Trials, Barskimming in 6th place on their dressage score of 32.3 with their second double clear at BE90. Owner Claire & Ghillie started the year with two 1st place rosettes at Blackdyke Farm showjumping. Claire described it as a "fab way to end my holidays, showjumping at Blackdyke Farm with 2 red ones for Ghillie boy! The 95 jump off was may favourite bit then our luck ran out in the 105 but fair to say he's enjoying his jumping right now".
The Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular ran from 18th -21st July 2019, where 4 year old Wiseland owned by Paul Connor competed. Wiseland was ridden by Milli Cornock on Day 3 & jumped a fantastic round with an unfortunate pole down. The 4 year old jumped again the following day, and was described as the "star of the day by Milli". Wiseland jumped a great double clear for 8th, by far his biggest track!

Information on the Bloodlines of Wise Guy R


Manhattan is the highest ranked M-stallion on the jumping index. He was Reserve Champion of the performance test in Ermelo and Reserve Champion of the Stallion competition – Winner of the 7 year old Championship at Etten-Leur. He made his International debut in Leeuwarden with second place and at Barcelona he was 4th and 6th. His offspring are very much in demand and have good movement and superb jumping abilities. There are too many to mention competing and doing well at high levels.
Burggraaf International Showjumper and cleared 2.10m during the Puissance of Brabant 1991 and 1993, and has a very high jumping index with 152 points. He has ten approved sons, eight International Showjumpers three Grand Prix Dressage Horses and many offspring who are star and keur. Many mares by him have won National Mare Shows and many of those were Champion and Reserve Champion.
Utopia the dam line of Manhattan is one of the most famous within the Netherlands. Abgar is one of the most influential Dutch sports horse producers.
Landgraf top breeding stallion has produced over 50 approved stallions and over 70 state premium mares just in Germany and heads the German yearbook with the total winnings of his progeny over 6 million D-Marks. Landgraf is in the bloodlines of the famous Ladykiller who sired 33 approved stallions and dominates Holsteiner pedigrees to such an extent that those without his name are becoming rare.
Concorde International Showjumper (Jos Lansink) and winner of many Grand Prix. The last three years he was the sire with the most offspring at the World Breeding Championships for young horses, and has proved himself to be an absolute top sire of International Sporthorses. Some of his offspring have proved themselves to be at the very top at Grand Prix level and World Cup Jumping. In the Grand Prix at Rotterdam 3 from the top 8 were his offspring.
He was elected Horse of the Year in 2004 and is the highest ranked KWPN stallion in the top ten of the WBFSH.
Miance RV is a full sister of the approved stallion Newton who has three sons approved, also on his dams side is Ladykiller xx sire of Fiance who is a full sister of the Holstein approved Hallmark, sire “lord” (9 approved sons and 143 approved daughters) and also grand dam of stallion Carbano and KWPN stallion Emilion who has two approved sons and has proven to belong to the worlds best producer of showjumpers.
Voltaire International Showjumper and winner of many Grand Prix. Voltaire was the sire with the most offspring at the Atlanta Olympics in 1991. and is second on the World Breeding Ranking of Showjumping Sires. He is the sire of 50 approved sons, and many of his offspring jump at Grand Prix level and compete in the international dressage ring. Voltaire has been awarded ‘Huntersire of the Year 2001, 2002, 2003, and at the moment is one of the top sires of KWPN Jumping Index with 151 points.
Nimmerdor one of the most famous sires of Showjumpers in the World, who won over $2,000,000. Nimmerdor sired over 60 international showjumpers in his career. Unfortunately died due to old age on 25th April 2003, but he has left behind over 40 approved stallions standing at stud around the world. Nimmerdor is Grand Sire to Nick Skelton CBE Rio Olympic Gold Medal winning showjumper Big Star (see Horse & Hound 18th May 2017).
