Glenwood Stud - Covid-19 update
Glenwood Stud would like firstly thank all of our liveries, clients & staff for their cooperation during the Covid-19 pandemic. We would like to reassure all of our clients that we are open for business. We are taking the necessary precautions to protect both staff & clients. We will continue to monitor the Government, RCVS & BHS guidelines & have introduced some further measures to ensure that we minimise the risk. In conjunction with our resident vets Rainbow Equine, we are already sending a letter to ensure travel is hassle free for our clients & their mare.
Please call our Stud Manager Rob Williams 07939 501357 to discuss your mare.
Thank you for your continued support.
Take it 2 the Limit - has been tested N/N for WFFS
It has been brought to our attention that there has been a mis-understanding regarding Take It 2 The Limit on the SHB website.
In January 2019, Take It 2 The Limit was tested for WFFS and his result was in fact negative N/N.
The SHB website states that he has not been tested. Hopefully this will be rectified on the SHB website very soon.

We care, your horse matters to us, we cater for individual requirements
Glenwood first started out as a training and livery establishment with breeding as a part of things, everything has always been to a high standard, producing and turning out horses for showing, dressage, showjumping and eventing as well as producing horses for at least five joint masters of foxhounds. So in turn the stud is run to standards which comply with DEFRA and is a semen collection centre.
Glenwood has also become one of only a few studs in Britain to be awarded the coveted British Equestrian Federation's "Breeder's Quality Mark" following a most stringent approval inspection of the stud in which every aspect of the business was assessed. The scheme has the objective of giving added confidence to breeders of horses/ponies with respect to skill/welfare/record keeping regarding their mares whilst they are at stud. Glenwood stud feels very honoured to have achieved this award having attained the high standards necessary for approval.
Val has competed on a great many horses to Grade B level Showjumping, Intermediate level British Eventing and Advanced Medium level Dressage, being at the Regional Finals many times, having bred and produced a great many of her horses. She has also been Pony Club Chief Instructor for many years, training teams for dressage, eventing and showjumping and is a filly inspector with the British Connemara Pony Society. Val now successfully shows a lot of Connemara Ponies and other breeds in hand.
Rob has competed Showjumping, cross country, built show jumping course for Horse Trials and taught showjumping. He has had many successes showing coloured horses and Connemara's in hand. To add to this he is now a Defra approved qualified Advanced AI technician.
Val and Rob therefore, have a good insight into the requirements for breeding a certain type of horse and are able to help clients and give them useful advice.
Glenwood Stud is run to DEFRA standards & is a British Breeding Equine Stud
